PPSU sheet is an amorphous high-performance engineering plastic and one of the products with the best comprehensive performance among all commercial thermoplastics currently available. It is often called the “plastic at the top of the pyramid”. On the basis of PEEK and PPS, it further improves the impact strength and steam sterilization resistance. It is the “gold standard” material in the medical and food industries.
What is PPSU board
PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) is a high-end model among polysulfone (PSU/PES/PPSU) materials. Compared with the former two, it has the highest impact strength and chemical resistance, and because it is an amorphous material, its high transparency (amber/transparent) and dimensional stability are also particularly outstanding.

The biggest feature of PPSU is its toughness and stability at high temperatures:
Unparalleled resistance to steam sterilization: This is the core advantage of PPSU. Compared with PEEK or PPS, PPSU can withstand repeated steam sterilization (autoclave) up to 134°C with almost no performance degradation or hydrolysis, making it very durable.
Excellent impact strength: Among all transparent or amber high-temperature resistant plastics, PPSU has the highest impact strength, even better than PEEK. It has better “toughness” and is less prone to brittleness.
High heat resistance: long-term use temperature can reach 170°C to 180°C, and short-term use can withstand temperatures above 190°C.
Excellent biocompatibility: This makes it widely used in the medical field. Many PPSU sheets are available in specialized medical grade (MT) versions that meet biocompatibility standards.
Transparent characteristics: Unlike PEEK (usually brown and black), PPSU is translucent amber or dark red/black, making it easier to observe the liquid level or perform optical inspections
