PEEK (polyetheretherketone) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic whose molecular structure gives it excellent heat resistance, mechanical strength and chemical stability. PEEK sheet is a flat plate made of this material through extrusion or molding process. It can subsequently be made into various precision parts through machining and other methods.
The reason why PEEK sheets can be used in many high-end fields is mainly due to the following points:
Excellent high temperature resistance: This is one of the outstanding characteristics of PEEK. It can work continuously for a long time at high temperatures of 260°C, and can even withstand temperatures of 310°C for short periods of time.
High mechanical strength: It has extremely high stiffness and hardness, as well as excellent tensile strength and fatigue resistance. It can maintain excellent dimensional stability and is not easily deformed even in high temperature and high load environments.
Strong chemical resistance: It can withstand the erosion of most acids, alkalis, organic solvents and other chemicals, and has excellent hydrolysis resistance.
Inherent flame retardancy: Without the addition of flame retardants, it can reach the flame retardant rating of UL 94 V-0, and the release of smoke and toxic gases during combustion is very low.
Excellent wear resistance: It has excellent wear resistance and anti-friction properties, and is very suitable for manufacturing components in friction applications such as bearings and seals.
Good insulation: maintains stable electrical insulation properties over a wide temperature and frequency range, while also resisting high-energy radiation
